Implication of Knowledge Management in Higher Learning Institutions

..... KM is a new field especially in higher learning institutions. Therefore, a survey by Sam Hijazi and Lori Kelly (2003) has indicated that higher learning institutions and the business world have some difficulty in understanding the implication of KM as a new model to support business process.  For that reason; it is difficult to establish a common understanding of what KM is. Besides, the knowledge is everywhere and it has not been captured, collaborated and managed systematically especially in the higher learning institutions. Similarly, resource in higher learning institutions may not be sustained for long period too.

Best practices for knowledge flows between client and vendor in IT outsourcing

A study of large, multinational outsourcing projects show that many risks associated with IT outsourcing occur due to communication failures between the client and vendor. Screening potential communication problems indicate the existence of gaps in information flow that occur due to ‘information risks’ or mistrust in the communication process.

It puts the responsibility for your communications on you, rather than on the incompetence, stupidity or stubbornness of the person you're trying to communicate with. More optimistically, it implies that you can improve your communications, because you are responsible for their effectiveness.
