Web 2.0 tools may be making their way into the corporate world, but businesses need to ask themselves to what extent do they need these technologies, an analyst cautions. In an e-mail interview with ZDNet Asia, Steve Hodgkinson, IT research director at Ovum Australia/New Zealand, said the primary objective of Web 2.0 tools that are deployed for business purposes--sometimes dubbed "Enterprise 2.0" platforms--is to "lubricate" the social networking effect of collaboration and stimulate innovation and knowledge sharing.
"New software tools, social behaviors, approaches to content creation and business models are changing the way we think about information, collaboration and intellectual property," Hodgkinson said.

Abstract- The awareness of the public at large of records as organizational knowledge asset has not been up to the expectation. Although the effort placed by the government to replace the previous National Archives Act 1966 No. 44 to National Archives Act 2003 [Act 629] can be looked as the most positive moved in protecting the corporate memory especially created by the public sectors, the enforcement of the act is very much needed. And this should be taken seriously by the private sectors as well to uphold the integrity of the organizations when litigation issues arise.

Innovation is a somewhat overlooked dimension in knowledge management, but it’s really the core of what all our efforts in KM should be about, says Waltraut Ritter, Research director at Knowledge Enterprises over Teh Tarik in her very short stop-over in Kuala Lumpur. It was the second time I met her in KL and our 2-hr long knowledge sharing was definitely a good experience for me.
Waltraut is visiting faculty member in a new university programme called I-schools at International School of Information Management, University of Mysore, India. I-schools or Information Schools are a collaborate project of a group of 19 I-schools in the United States and Canada (e.g. University of California, Berkeley; Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, Syracuse University).

This paper highlights the six-step processes of K-Mapping in the organization to provide a framework for identifying knowledge, organizing it into manageable units, ensuring that it is relevant, and distributing it to others throughout the organization. Furthermore, its also highlights the KM implementation strategy for organization. Designing the KM implementation strategy for organization would be the first step before moving towards the total KM implementation in organization. This implementation strategy must be aligned with the organization business strategy, or else its will fail to accomplish goals that are tangible to the organization.
Dunamis Organization Services, in association with Teleos and The KNOW Network, has announced the Winners of the third annual Indonesian Most Admired Knowledge Enterprises (MAKE) study.
